What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda literally translates as the “Science of Life.” It’s a holistic system that spans all areas of our life: our bodies and physical condition, our mind and emotions, and our spirit and soul.

According to Ayurveda, our human bodies are a microcosm of life on earth itself: everything that is present in the universe can also be found inside of us. As a result, Ayurveda does not separate the mind and the body and approaches each person as a unique individual: mind, body and soul.

Ayurveda sometimes has a reputation for being a complex system, with lots of rules to follow, but this stereotype couldn’t be further from the truth. Ayurveda is a highly intuitive system that actually involves a lot of common sense! Armed with some basic knowledge, it is possible to begin making changes quickly, bringing yourself back into balance.

Ayurveda is also a system of healing that works to get to the root of the issue and imbalance, rather than simply looking to alleviate symptoms. It isn’t a quick fix method, but instead aims to provide sustainable, long-term healing and wellness.

Ayurveda does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we work to address the specific imbalances that are arising for you and create a plan that takes into account exactly what you, as an individual, need to bring you back into balance.

Ayurveda allows us to access our inner healer, change our actions, and, in turn, transform the world!
